The Sudanese pound is one of the world's least stable currencies, having lost over 99% of its value against the US dollar since 2011.
- Introduced in 1957 when Sudan gained independence, replacing the Egyptian pound
- Subdivided into 100 piastres, following the pound sterling system
- Redenominated in 2007 with the new Sudanese pound replacing the old currency at a rate of 1:1
- Has experienced significant devaluation due to economic instability and civil conflict
- Currently managed by the Central Bank of Sudan
