2017 rainbow flag

History

Gilbert Baker's final pride flag design, created in 2017 — the year before his death — which added a ninth lavender stripe to the original rainbow as a symbol for diversity. Baker added lavender to reconnect the flag to the lavender-as-queer symbolism that predates his 1978 design.
