Olympic Flag
History
The Olympic flag was first raised at the 1920 Antwerp Games. Pierre de Coubertin designed the rings symbol in 1912 and the flag in 1913. The white background represents peace; the rings represent the union of the five continents.
Colors
Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, Red, White
The five colours — blue, yellow, black, green, and red — were chosen because at least one of them appears in the flag of every nation that competed in 1912.
Symbols
Five interlocking rings on a white background
The five interlocking rings represent the five continents of the world united by the Olympic movement. They were designed by Pierre de Coubertin in 1912.
