Polysexual Pride Flag
History
The Polysexual Pride Flag was created by Tumblr user Samlin in 2012. Polysexuality describes attraction to multiple but not all genders, positioning it between bisexuality (often defined as same and different gender) and pansexuality (all genders regardless of gender). The flag was designed specifically to address the gap in the flag canon where polysexual people had no dedicated symbol. The green stripe for non-binary people was noted as forward-looking at a time when non-binary identities were only beginning to enter mainstream discourse.
Colors
pink, green, blue
Pink represents attraction to women; green represents attraction to non-binary people; blue represents attraction to men.
Symbols
three horizontal stripes
The colour logic directly acknowledges gender while marking out that attraction does not extend to all genders — the defining distinction from pansexuality.
